Annual Band Parade & Competition - Saturday 12th May 2007

We are pleased to announce that the East Belfast Protestant Boys Annual Parade & Competition will be held on the Saturday 12th May 2007. The parade start time will be at 7:30PM. This year also marks the bands 40th Anniversary and from starting up in 1967 we are happy to say the band is still going strong in 2007.

We would like to thank all our supporters and members over our entire history as if it was not for them then we wouldn't exist today.

All bands are to assemble at the start point of the parade at Ashdale Street in the Connswater Retail Park which is just off the Newtownards Road. A full map of the parade is included in the downloadable Parade Flyer.

The approximate distance for this route is 2 miles. This is an open invitation parade, and we aim to support those bands that support us!

We can confirm that bands from Scotland and England will be making the trip over for this parade and we are honoured to have their participation in our annual parade.

We are very proud of the close relationships between Loyalist bands from Ulster and the mainland and we are always delighted to hear that these mainland bands are making the trip. We respect their presence and make sure that they have a very pleasant experience in East Belfast.

We are very honoured in holding a parade every year and with this we set out to make sure that the running of the parade will pass off efficiently and we encourage all bands who are attending that they keep a close eye on their own memberís behaviour and also that of their band followers who accompany them.

The East Belfast Protestant Boys have a great reputation with the surrounding Policing Authorities and we aim to keep it that way by employing our own strict marshalling of the parade throughout the whole route from start to finish.

Our main aim is to make this a family night for all ages to attend, the youth of today will soon be the ones parading the streets of Northern Ireland so we should all set the example for them, and so they can go on and promote our Protestant culture in years to come.

We hope that you can attend one of Ulsterís best parades of the season and if your band is attending the parade please CONTACT US. Click to download a Parade Flyer for this forthcoming event.
