Drumderg Loyalists - 19/06/09

We made the long journey to support the host band as we have done so for a number of years now. Yes, its not the greatest of parades by any means, walking along a country road from one Orange hall to the other isnt heart stopping. But when you consider where it is and whom its getting at, then civil and religious rights must prevail.

Anyway, a good display from the bands i seen on parade. Clogher Protestant Boys smaller in numbers but high in volume as where Ballymacall, a band i only see every now and again. Portadown Defenders playing well going past me, well done to all bands for turning up on a bad road. Gertrude Star from the East down for their first time, good to see in this part of the world.

Tonight we were awarded the following:
1st Blood and Thunder Drum Corp
1st B&T flutecorps
1st Blood and Thunder
1st Lead Tip
2nd Most Entertaining
2nd Blood and Thunder Drum Major
3rd Style and Appearance
3rd Marching and Discipline
1st Best Overall

Tonight we paraded with 7 of a Colour Party, 12 drummers, 3 bass drummers, 24 flautists and marshalls. We played ok in my opinion. But as i have said, supporting Drumderg where others refuse to do so was our top priority. Well done Drumderg Loyalists!
