John Hanna Memorial Parade - 12/09/09

We made the short journey across the city and it was good once again to get over and support this parade. Its not every year we manage to do this but this was the 2nd in a row and i am glad we did.

John Hanna was the youngest UVF Volunteer to be killed by the IRA in the troubles, he was just 19 years of age.

A total of 19 bands turned out for the parade. A fair turnout on a Saturday afternoon. It turned out to be a very warm afternoon, very warm. The parade made its way around the Village area and down into Sandy Row, it finished in Donegal Pass. Wreaths and flowers were laid by bands, family and friends at the Mural and memorial garden.

Below are a selection of photographs of the band in action.

We paraded with 6 of a colour party, 12 drummers, 3 bass drummers, 25 flautists and marshalls.

It isnt the sort of parade you comment on any one band, turning up and taking part is the important thing. Well done everyone.

Lest we forget
