Kinallen FB Parade - 29/05/09

The band made the trip to Dromore tonight. Graced with some of Ulsters finest on show. Just a pity that people out watching is at a low rate, to me it seems to be the same crowd of people watching the band scene on a weekly basis.

Anyway, a brilliant night with the weather, the centre of Dromore was booming to the echoes of bass drums and was a caldron of noise.

Bands i seen tonight were Bessbrooke True Blues, Loyal Sons of Benagh and Goldsprings all going well. Portadown Defenders numbers looked on the up as where Downshire Guiding Stars. Pride of the Hill Rathfriland were massive tonight as were the other big guns such as Clogher Protestant Boys and Drumderg Loyalists. I thought the Kilcluney Volunteers were the strongest, loud as anything i have heard to date.

Lambeg also going well bringing up the rear for the smaller section. Lower Woodstock U.S although low in numbers gave a good account of themselves as did Hillsborough Protestant Boys. Great to also see the Pride of the Maine bringing up the Ballymena beat to the town.

Below are a selection of photographs of the band in action.

Colour Party Colour Party Drum Corps

Here is a clip of the band in action:

Tonight our own band walked with 5 of a colour party, 12 drummers, 2 bass drummers, 30 flautists and marshalls. Tonight i felt we did everything right. The drummers played to a high level and we tryed a few new tunes on the back roads of the route. The volume of noise in narrow streets is certainly high.

We finished of the parade playing one of our new tunes called Sapper Hill. It went well and i am sure we will play it better as the weeks go by. Well done to Kinallen on a well run parade.
