Rising Sons of the Valley Parade - 07/04/10

The band made the long trip down to the Co Down village on a good night weather wise.

Its been a while since the band have been able to attend this parade so it was a new parade for some of our members.

The parade was under way by the time we arrived and a good turnout for one of the first band parades of the season. I managed to see Ballinran parading out and a number of Accordian bands. Dunacloney sounded well as did Drumderg and the South Belfast Young Conquerors.

Below are a selection of photographs of the band in action.

The route of the parade was short but enjoyable on the night with a fair sized crowds in the usual spots. As we finished i caught sight of Skeogh FB. Well turned out and playing first class. Pride of the Hill Rathfriland also caught my eye and sounded well also. Big numbers and making a hugh amount of volume.

Our own band paraded with 8 of a colour party, 2 drum majors, 15 drummers, 2 bass drummers, 29 flautists and marshalls. We played ok. Well done to a few new members who made their debut tonight, it was good to get back on the road.

Well done to the Rising Sons of the Valley.
